Sussie teaches strategic marketing from basic to advanced levels. Her main research interests revolve around the marketing and entrepreneurship disciplines including various strategic approaches to portfolio entrepreneurship, airline alliances, internationalisation, sustainability and country of origin effects. Internationally recognised as a thought leader at the Marketing and Entrepreneurship Interface, she received the Outstanding Paper Award at the 2012 Literati Network Awards for Excellence. Her work is published in international journals including the Journal of International Marketing, Journal of Strategic Marketing, Advances in Consumer Research and the Journal of Research in Marketing and Entrepreneurship.
She held senior management roles in tourism, cultural affairs and the performing arts before pursuing her passion for higher learning. Sussie gained her PhD from the University of Canterbury whilst simultaneously teaching at the University of Auckland Business School. She currently sits on the Entre Ltd Board of Directors and the Project Lead of the UC 21 Day Challenge. Outside of work, Sussie is interested in theatre and dance, reading, travel and stimulating conversations over great food and wine.
