Background

Dr. David R. Fortin is currently Adjunct Associate Professor in Marketing for the Department of Management, Marketing and Entrepreneurship at The University of Canterbury in New Zealand.  He has a PhD in Marketing from The University of Rhode Island (USA) and several years experience in product management for an international food manufacturer and advertising management as an executive for a medium-sized Canadian advertising agency. He has recently served in managerial roles as Dean and Associate Dean of the Faculty of Commerce, Director of the Masters in Business Management and is currently a member of the Academic Board of UC.  He served as co-Chair of the ANZMAC 2010 Annual Conference held in Christchurch.  His dissertation proposal received an Honourable Mention in the very competitive Marketing Science Institute (MSI) Annual Doctoral Dissertation Proposal Competition.  Dr. Fortin's research has been published in outlets such as the Journal of Advertising Research, Journal of Business Research, Advances in Consumer Research, Journal of Consumer Marketing, Int’l Journal of Internet Marketing and Advertising, Int’l Journal of Mobile Marketing, Psychology & Marketing, International Journal of Entrepreneurship and Innovation Management, British Food Journal and Telematics & Informatics.  He also wrote chapter contributions in several books about the Web and Global e-Commerce. He has served as guest editor for special issues of the Journal of Business Research, Journal of Consumer Marketing and the Int’l Journal of Internet Marketing and Advertising.  His research focus is in the area of Interactive Marketing and e-Commerce, Consumer Research on the Web, Experimental Designs, Advertising Effectiveness, Research Methodology, and Attitude Change and Formation.
