Jörg Finsterwalder, born in Germany, is Associate Professor of Marketing in the Department of Management, Marketing, and Entrepreneurship. He has a Doctorate in Marketing from the University of St. Gallen in Switzerland, holds a Masters Degree in Business Administration (Dipl.-Kfm.) from the Catholic University of Eichstätt-Ingolstadt, Germany, and has a Postgraduate Diploma in Tertiary Teaching from The University of Canterbury.

Jörg has several years experience in Relationship Marketing for an international car manufacturer. He has worked both for AUDI AG headquarters in Ingolstadt, Germany, Relationship Marketing Department, and for Audi of America's Relationship Marketing Unit in Detroit. In addition, he has professional experience in finance industry.

His research focus is mainly in the area of Services Marketing. Currently, he is particularly interested in the following at times intertwined research topics: co-creation of services, group services and consumer tribes, value networks and service (eco) systems, service consumer behaviour, customer experiences, and disasters and services. His work is published in international journals such as the Journal of Strategic Marketing, Managing Service Quality and Journal of Retailing and Consumer Services. Jörg is an editorial advisory board member of the Journal of Service Theory and Practice.
