Background

Born in P.R.China, Dr Ning (Chris) Chen is Lecturer in Marketing, joining the department at the end of 2015. Prior to this, Chris was a Lecturer in Marketing at the University of Lincoln, UK and had been teaching in different institutions in Australia and China including New York University, Sydney, Macquarie University, University of New South Wales, and Tsinghua University, Beijing. He had also worked briefly in the marketing team of Nike China during 2008 Beijing Olympics as well as those of Octagon Beijing and Mercedes-Benz China. His research interests are related to place identity and attachment, and consumer behaviours in the new information age especially word-of-mouth,  as well as cultural studies in marketing. His work is published in leading international marketing and tourism journals including Tourism Analysis, Tourism Geographies, and Journal of Travel & Tourism Marketing.  Chris is also a reviewer for a number of top journals and has been teaching many marketing subjects at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. These subjects include Principles of Marketing, Marketing Management, Social Media Marketing, Marketing Communications, Consumer Behaviour, Relationship Marketing, International Marketing, and Marketing Research.
