Below is part of a schedule as it appears in the Scheduling and Evaluation Tool (SET). Schedules are downloaded from 'The Planner' into Excel and are imported into SET through the 'Import Schedule' button. The data at the top are inputs which are drawn from an accompanying data file. These values can be changed as required to explore the effects that changing machine specifications has on schedules.
The 'Schedule' button takes the user to a form from which they can perform rule-based or Tabu Search scheduling. The 'Save' button allows schedules to be saved to separate worksheets for further analysis.

Below is part of the output resulting from the importing and scheduling of the items to be processed on a print machine. The drop-down menu at the top allows the user to select one of the previously saved schedules. Once the 'Get Schedule' button is clicked, the 'Output' worksheet is refreshed, providing details of the chosen schedule.
The buttons beside the lateness cost and delivery profile graphs provide an opportunity to graph the costs compared with three separate dates. The customer request date (C/R) is the date originally requested by the customer and is likely to be the date that customers measure AEP Flexipacís performance against. The promised date is the date that a staff member offers as a completion date when the order is first accepted and confirmed. The due date is initially set as the promised date, but can be revised if, for example, there is a major delay with acquiring materials.
As we were not privy to any specific cost information, all the performance measures are approximations as agreed with staff at AEP Flexipac.
